Mulan (Ping when talking to others) | [livejournal.com profile] thethirdhare
Shang has a whole bundle of emotions regarding Mulan. She's his subordinate who dressed up as a man and impressed him with her determination and intelligence, and then briefly earned his ire when she turned out to be a woman. Now, having seen her save China (and received no less than official approval from the Emperor), Shang appreciates her for the woman she is, and hopes to marry her. Unfortunately, as A)she's still pretending to be a man in Death City and, B)he can't ask her father for permission in Death City, Shang's plan aren't going so well right now. At the moment, he's now in the awkward position of loving a woman who everyone else thinks is a man.

Ash (name unknown) | [livejournal.com profile] pkmn_hero
Shang thinks Ash is a little odd - he keeps using words in strange ways. The boy seems to think that "cold" means "awesome".
Canada | [livejournal.com profile] maplezen
As another spirit of a country, and the apparent friend of China, Canada is also accordingly respected by Shang. But not as much as China, of course.
China (Shèng) | [livejournal.com profile] closedmarket
Shang is China's fangirl. He has a deep an abiding respect for him - as well as a little inner Shang that goes "squee" whenever he speaks to China. He considers the fact that he is able to speak with and serve China the highest privilege and honour, and he will defend China with his life without hesitation.
Germany | [livejournal.com profile] thebestandwurst
Shang views Germany as a fellow leader, as he has obviously taken charge of training. As yet, he knows little of Germany's skill, but he can see that he is a dedicated man.
Kanda (name unknown) | [livejournal.com profile] kandescence
Shang considers Kanda to be the worst kind of soldier - insubordinate, disrespectful, and much too noisy. Shang doesn't know Kanda's skills yet - but Shang would take a good soldier who knows how to work with his comrades over a master swordsman any day.
Kuroro (name unknown) | [livejournal.com profile] alphaspider
Shang regards Kuroro as a potential danger to China, due to an off-hand comment Kuroro made about Chine being "delicious". Shang will watch him carefully and with suspicion, particular if he's near China.
Liechtenstein | [livejournal.com profile] furstentum
Shang feels pity for Lichtenstein, since she has lost her brother. He's still a bit awkward around her though, what with her being a little girl.
Ling Yao | [livejournal.com profile] for_xing
As Ling is a Prince, Shang will according him the highest respect and honour. He doesn't understand Ling's request for others to not act as if he's a prince, but then Shang doesn't presume to know and understand the ways of royalty.
Winry Rockbell | [livejournal.com profile] endthiscycle
As a young unnmaried woman, Shang is unsure of how to act around Winry. He also can't help but fight her much more advanced knowledge of "technology" strange and mysterious. He will act around her in a highly formal manner.
Yoko (name unknown) | [livejournal.com profile] killswithkisses
Another young woman who Shang will act highly formal with a hint of awkward around. He finds the fact that she doesn't know what magic is odd.
